Low cholesterol food

Low cholesterol food is mostly a type of food that has no cholesterol. Mostly includes fish, poultry and turkey, fruits and vegetables, and whole grain foods.

Fish and poultry does contain a bit of cholesterol, so it is recommended that you limit  your intake to 5 ounces or less each day.

When you go food shopping you will see products with the label ‘no cholesterol’ or ‘low cholesterol’. You have to research a bit more on this, because sometimes this is simply a marketing gimmick to get you to buy the food.

The reason why fruits are vegetables are safely called low cholesterol foods is ebcause they have a high fibre content that eats up cholesterol right away and takes it out of your body. Eating fresh, raw salads is best, far better than eating them boiled.

Consumption of animal products should be reduced if not entirely avoided and consumption of high fiber foods, including fruits and vegetables, whole grains and legumes) should be increased. Animal products are very high in fat which ends up clogging your blood vessels and they have no fiber at all, which means that they cannot cleans your body from said fats. When you have to eat meats, try to eat lean meat, such as chicken or turkey, as well as fish. They are rich in protein, vitamins and minerals and are perfect for your metabolism.

For example one particular low cholesterol food that is recommended for eating is Quaker oats. Also eating avocado will lower your cholesterol by 8% because it contains high content of monounsaturated fats as well as beta-sitosterol, both which keep high cholesterol in check.

You can also eat safely nuts and seeds as these contain lots of vitamins and minerals and are high in dietary fibre that helps with metabolism and keeping you on the lower side of the chalories.

Including a healthy dose of low cholesterol food in your diet is the best way to keep your levels of cholesterol low and to keep you away from other serious illnesses such as heart attacks, high blood pressure or being overweight.

If you have high cholesterol or know someone who does, this may be worth taking a look . . .
